Unable to Start Outlook Express 6.0

My brother loves using outlook express even though the program seems to want to crash frequently. He has had a similar problem in 5.5 and 6.0 . The program begins to load and then just hangs there with the hour glass spinning over and over.

Found this fix at MS knowledge base and it goes up to 5.5. Suppose it will work for OE6.0?

He has Win2000 Pro installed with SP4 and IE6 and SP1.

He just did a fresh format with all the updates mentioned above, but on the 3rd use of the program it again has this problem.

Anyone experiencing this problem and come up with any other fixes. The problem happenes also on his Win98se pc.

Forgot to mention I gave him my old Office 2000 Pro and had him setup Outlook. Outlook works great, but would still be interested in a fix for OE6.0

Is avg antivirus installed on it? I had a problem with it, if you checked the box for the out look expess plugin in avg, then outlook express would never finish loading.

I think it was fine before sp1.

I have found that many of the fixes that don't mention 6 work for 6, it's just that they were supposed to have fixed it in 6.....
