    Post little white dots

Just installed new ram in my son's system; pc133 256 meg x 2 for a total of 512 meg. The ram is recognized at POST and everything runs fine. The problem is that little white dots are appearing on the screen, especially in gaming programs. I've checked the ram out in other systems and it's fine. I've also tried a lot of different monitor refresh rates to no avail. His system is: Abit BH6 Board, celeron 700mhz chip, Gforce 2 video card, etc. I've also checked the BIOS to make sure that all the memory setting were correct.
    Any suggestions would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Paul

Probably this is caused by the new memory.

I would download one of the following two diagnostics and check the new memory.

    good luck!

A problem like this used to occur in early systems with shared system/video memory when SDRAM was fitted rather than EDO memory. The SDRAM was much faster and caused a timing problem, selecting memory by trial & error usually cured it.

Was your original memory PC100? If so I guess it's possible a similar problem is occurring via the AGP window, which gives the video card access to system memory. If you find PC133 memory gives the fault and PC100 memory doesn't, try going into the BIOS setup and comparing the memory timing settings the BIOS uses for the two types of memory. If the BIOS is detecting the PC133 and using faster timings, try manual settings the same as were used for the PC100, and see what happens.

Is this card AGP? Can't see, if it is try increasing the size of the AGP aperture in bios to its maximum value if the memory checks out.
