Long delay when pressing "Enter" in IE address bar

Recently, whenever I type an address into the IE address bar and press enter... it highlights the address I put it and just sits there. If I wait a minute or more, it suddenly goes to the page I typed in. This does not happen in Firefox....

Can't help but wonder if there is some spyware, malware or such lurking in your system bogging down your IE. Do you use Ad-Aware and/or Spybot to check for such stuff?

Check that it in tools, options, connections, lan settings, that the automatically detect settings is not enabled.
