    Question Samsung CD/DVD drive

Trying to run an expansion pak to a game I have, and it installs ok, but when I launch the game I get a "Incorrect disc error." EA tech support thinks it's the Windrivers I have. Anyone heard of this?

    TIA,

    kaizer

Is the drive you're running from a CDRW drive? Some copy protection scheme will force failures on some CDRW drives.

Try to run the expansion on another computer and see if it works. If not, the CD might be bad and send it to EA for an replacement. Or return it to the store you got it for a quick exchange.

Thanks for replying! I do have a CDRW/DVD combo drive and have successfully installed the game on a friends laptop. So far I've updated Windows and installed a few components that seemed specific to my problem without any luck. I do have a Toshiba CD-ROM drive (E:\) but that didn't work. Do both drives use the same drivers?

who ever you got at ea games was fobbing you off.

CDrom and DVD devices use the same drivers as the hard drive.

They could have been talking about the ide drivers, but it's unlikely that would have an effect.

If it installed on the friends laptop, was that a cdrw or just a plain cdrom?
