It doesn't sound very democratic to me... and judges should be ouside the political system...shouldn't they?
Uhm, bub, check your American politics. Congress is representative of the people. Sorta the entire idea. The people vote them into office so they can represent their opinons. If one party held a 60% majority in congress, it goes to reason that at the last election, roughly 60% of the people supported that party. We are a representative republic with a fetish for democracy.
