Windows 98 OE Error at 0028:C0000000
I have gotten this blue screen message a couple of times the past week. About this same period my computer icon has disappeared from the network neighborhood but I am still able to connect to others on the network, but they cannot connect to me. My desktop items have also been changing locations from the last start up. The computer also freezes, the cursor is slow to move and will at times flutter about the screen and open a windows toolbar box. This behavior happened before but ceased when a new hard drive was installed, which was about 6 weeks ago. The computer has also started hanging on shut down.
Thank you in advance.

I would go with virus too... a nasty trojan doing the rounds at the moment, ircfloodx - got exactly the same blue screen with it... and nero got its knickers in a twist too.

Besides the dubious spelling, it just won't ! I can think of a number of things it can't 'get' .. it'll give you a 'start', for sure, on 'net nasties' but you want to stop believing all that marketing hype ..
There just isn't 'a one stop solution' for this .. the best 'cure' is prevention in the first place..
Okay Smarty-pants....
You're the expert, so how DO you get rid of Paul's Trojan...???

1. absolutely !! agreed ..
2. we don't know it is a trojan yet do we ?
The point of my post is that different AV solutions (which ought to get trojans & worms too, but often don't because they define them differently to how you or I might) isn't a 'complete' answer .. then there's more general malware too, but that doesn't often blue screen ..
So sure definately get some up-to-date AV (whatever) & give that a whirl .. but no one product will 'get everything' .. I'm quibbling with 'all' in your post - because it just simply isn't true

You're right. There's no such thing as the 'perfect' trojan remover as their is no such thing as the 'perfect' av scanner....
