Battlefield 1942 Spam

So, I love 1942 and Desert Combat. I /hate/ the text that comes up on the left hand side that shows every dipsh!t comment by every newb. Yeah, I know that sometimes there's important strategy information in there, but it's vastly outweighed by newbspam(tm). So does anyone know of a tweak to get rid of the side text? Is it one of the ~ commands? Thanks.

Or better yet how to turn off all the votes that people do to kick whomever all the time. that takes up the other side of the screen.

Agreed. A great couple of games, just that the spam drives me nuts. And then there's the jerkoffs that'll type something just specifically to spam/block your field of view. The guys who'll do an entire block of one letter or something. Can't tell you how many times I've had my shots thrown off due to that.

I can ignore the spam but the constant votes to kick or for the next map are freakin killers as they are DARK and block a significant portion of the screen and there's no setting to make them more transparent.

Perhaps I'll complain to EA Games tonight.

The voting wouldn't bother me as much if it had any significance. I think since they included vote capability I've seen maybe 2 votes go through.

Yeah, I hate that crap too. Having admin power on the servers I play on helps.

Larommi; so if you're an admin then you'd know the settings requested at the start of this post? I'm assuming then that as of yet there's not a way to do this, yes?
