    Post Voodoo Banshee 3D driver

I'll be greatly appreciate if someone can
help me to find driver for my Voodoo Banshee
3D video card. I tried to download it from reference sites but they don't work. Looks like 3dfx removed some important pieces from their drivers.

    What make is the Card?

Creative? Diamond? Innovision? Gainward? or one of the any others that used the Banshee chipset?

Unfortunately it doesn't work. I received message: "The driver that you have chosen was not written specifically for the selected hardware..."
The card name from Invoice: VGA-3DFA/16SGJ
On the card I see sign ENSONIQ (by the way this confuses me, I know ENSONIQ produses audio stuff).

    Hello There;
I also have an Voodoo Banshee for now. I am using the last 3DFX reference drivers. is A diamond card, and I also got the same massage The driver that you have chosen was not written specifically for the selected hardware..."
when I install my drivers but I am using the reference drivers with no problems, I still have the drivers file is a 6.5mb file if you want. If you are not able to find reference drivers,I can emailed to you or better open and acount in freedrive and i will send the file.

Just as Irrenhaus said, you'll need the reference drivers. As the chipset is made by 3dfx, and since they have been taken over by nVIDIA, it still may be a bit hard to find the drivers.

Anyway, here's the link to 3dfx's driver site: http://www.3dfx.com/downloads.htm

Look for the Voodoo Banshee. Although 3dfx tells you to use drivers from the manufacturer, for your case that's somewhat of a problem...

    Oh well...good luck!

    Darren, OS is Windows98.
Irrenhouse, I opened account in Freedrive.
My email: [email protected]. What info should I give you in order to receive file?
Paco_L_250, I recalled that I tried to load
driver from this site. I don't remember exactly what problem I got but it certainly
    was a problem.
Thanks, guys. I will try all stuff that you recommended.

    Red face

Now I have the same problem as I just traded my wifes card. It's a voodoo banshee from creative. Are there any known drivers for it out there? I can only play Diablo in Direct draw mode. When I try glide it tell me after a brief start that the mipmap can't span past a 2mb barrier4?

    Cool

I use a guilemont (sp.?) Maxi Gamer Phoenix in my home system, and i've never had any problem when i used the latest Bansghee drivers from 3dfx (Don't get me started with the Guil. POS Drivers). I've got a copy on my computer at home. Send me an e-mail at [email protected] and i'll send em over.
