Netscape don' wanna work after reinstall of Win2K Pro
Ok so my puter finally bit the dust, and I got a new one from an old friend of most of you. Windows 2KPro didn't play nicely with the new mobo so I had to reinstall it... which has been working out just fine for most purposes... but I've run into a problem trying to set up Netscape again. I want to preserve the old Netscape user profiles if at all possible... so I renamed the Netscape file to Netscape.old and reinstalled Netscape again.
However, any attempt to run Netscape or the Profile Manager results in nothing. No disk activity, nothing in Task Manager... it just does nothing. I've tried uninstalling it using both the Netscape and Win2K uninstaller and then reinstalling it and that has no effect on the problem.
Anyone got any advice?
The system is:
HP Pavilion 541C
Windows 2000 Professional
Netscape 7.1
So far the ONLY software installed is:
ZoneAlarm free edition
AVG Antivirus free edition
HighSpeed Access Manager Software (required for my DSL account)
Flash! Don't heckle the supervillain!

Give mozilla a whirl, see if you get the same problem.

Hmmm... might look at that.
IE works fine, quite frankly I would leave it at that but the wife insists on having her Netscape, and I'm one of those rare breeds that thinks what the wife wants is important enough to arrange... sigh...
