My accountant told me I got 17.00 more back from the irs this year. But my other taxes increased by 434.00.
And I guess I have to say it over and over and over for the truly misinformed:
It is not a tax cut. It is a LOAN. Since the entire reduction in taxes was paid for by money borrowed by the federal government and since loans have to be repaid you and I will have to pay back the loan with interest.
Thankfully people are much smarter than you, JaxSon. They know that they had the wool pulled over their eyes.

No one asked me what I wanted for this poll. I would like both...a balanced budget, to pay less taxes, oh, and I want the deficit handled...

Tax cut? I got a $300 check almost 2 years ago, and that really didn't impact my life. It paid 3/4 of my car payment for that month. Whoopie-do...

My general taxes have stayed the same or gone up in some instances. I agree, it is more of a loan. The tax cut just managed to send the defecit soaring even faster and some day we will need to pay that badboy back down again, and it ain't going to be pennies from heaven.

And getting back to whether it is/was a real tax cut, how much would you have paid if you didn't get that "cut"? Could it be more? You betcha.

The $300 check (I actually got $600) is a result of making the child credit retroactive to the first of the year. Another nice bonus. Has anybody else ever done such a thing? Of course, if you don't pay any taxes to start with, then you didn't get the check.

All of this info is easy to chase down if you had a mind...to.

And again, this post was to discuss some good news coming down the pike...but you and your same ol' glood & doom tries like heck to find some bad news in the midst of it all.

I think you proved my point, though. Continuing to insist it is a tax cut when it will have to be paid back is like claiming your income went up because you purchased things on your credit card.
Has any other President had tax cuts? Well actually since the budget was in deficit for so many years there was no tax "cuts" until Clinton gave us a surplus. However, many presidents have enacted tax loans. None has ever enacted such huge loans as Bush. And none had done it in such a way as get you a separate check with a note saying it came from him, like Bush did.
And once again, as many have agreed with here, we all pay taxes even if we don't pay income tax. Those people not only got NOTHING, but they had the taxes that they do pay INCREASED by Bush. (Federal fees for using public parks, telephone surcharges, etc).
And due to the presidents cuts in critical services states and localities have raised things like the sales tax, property tax, etc.
What kind of true growth is it when the government borrows 350 BILLION a year to loan to people? False growth. Designed to fool the unwary.
