What are the prices like for this type of procedure?

I've hear that astigmatism can be nipped if it isn't too advanced. Is this true?

I just paid out 600+ $, albeit Canadian, for my new prescription glasses.

    is it true?

Is it true that most doctors make people wait until their about 30-35 before getting it done? I've called a few doctors in the Chesapeake, VA area down here and that is what they have said.

I have a horrible astigmatism, i hate my contacts, i hate my bifocals. I have a brother in law whose vision is worse than mine, and has to were bifocals w/prism, and has been seriously been thinking about getting it done, but was told he was too young (well, he is young).

Wow, I've never heard that around here....seems a lil odd to me... I actually heard kinda the opposite from my Dr...if in 50s they aren't as apt to do it due to cataracs (sp?) and insurance covers that surgery.....and w/ that surgery they implant like a permanent contact, so the outcome is the same...

Man, they weren't kidding about dry eyes after this though!

Was it like when Doug bought his wife eye surgery for her Birthday on King of Queens? He couldn't afford to go to the good doctor so he took her to the place that offered a one eye, second eye half off coupon.

I was wondering that too!!!...wow, thats a HUGE price difference in what I paid!!

I do know that the procedure I had done is only about a year old and tailored to the individual's eye and its imperfections rather than all eyes of that same prescription being treated the same. Not sure what Amyb had!

Regular Lasik, (I went with the year plan since I was Farsighteded the other warrenty was for 3 years), so I just picked the first option.
I still have dry eyes when I wake up in the morning. Thank goodness for the artificial tears!!
