well it's mostly just stoopid. I'm pretty sure it's a clever hoax story/site (if you look at all the links on the left to science, entertainment, and weather they're all fake, links down below to the terms of use etc. etc)
and googled results of 'ipod murder' (where i found the link from) all talk about the hoax
but it's still pretty funny imho
