Networking/LAN Speed-Up
I can't remember what I need to do to speed up my home LAN/Network.
TCP/IP, NetBios, NetBEUI, and IPX protocol's are active.
I just can't remember what the optimum setting is to take advantage of the 100M speed in the house, and still access the DSL modem cleanly.
I hate it when the brain stops. =)

Abandon IPX. Use Netbuei for in house and TCP/IP to communiccate with the outside world.

Thanks for that tip, of course now transferring files between machines in the 'house' is a tad slower than snot drying.
I don't remember the settings, but in the beginning a friend and I had it so I can transfer the equivelent of a full CD-ROM through the LAN to another machine in a very short time.

Are you sure that your machines are connecting to each other at full speed? Just a thought.

There seems to be something wrong with my keyboard. I can't find the "any" key!
