Make sure pin one goes on the correct side or it won't work.
So that's 'generally' the way it goes , but that assumes both drives combined can work with IDT (independant device timings) & we have no mixed MW DMA & UDMA issues, to be 'sure' you need to either test & note speeds or post all the specs of the IDE devices concernced & I can take an 'educated' guess at what combo will give you the best overall performance
