what the hell was that? It was like the story line was ripped from the headlines of teh "Weekly World News" The fine publication that gave us the batboy
By the way, next year the writers were told to make the season finale the series finale incase they dont pick it up another year. UPN is going down like a pair of panties on prom night. That network sucks almost as bad as WB and ABC.

Yeah, that finale just made my head spin.... Obviously they weren't going to kill Archer, and it doesn't take a genius to figure out that it would be time travel related but man..... I just didn't see where they were coming from OR where they were going!
Crazy spoiler discussion:
(don't read if you don't want to know, not that it will make ANY SENSE even if you DO read it).
Ok, so the Weapon was flying around in 2158 (because they destroyed the orbital research station which was WAY out of proportion BTW). So they destroyed the weapon, Archer vanishes off of it. (perhaps going back in time at that point, but who can tell).
So the remaining gang (Degra's Ship gang) goes back through the vortex (read: Hyperspace highway to Earth, man you'd think Starfleet would want to know about a freaking highway anyone can use to cut the travel time to Earth from 6 months to 8 hours!) and picks up Enterprise. Now, Enterprise COULD have done some time traveling with all the Sphere stuff going on back in the Expanse, but how the HELL would the people who NEVER LEFT DEGRA'S SHIP have time travelled?
Anyway, then they join up with the aquatics (read: the Aquatics sure didn't travel back in time, they weren't even CLOSE to Enterprise OR the Weapon). So i WANT to say that they are still in 2158...
So they travel back to Earth through the Vortex in the belly of the Aquatics. Dr. Phlox's pets are acting up, could be coincidence, could be time travel. They emerge, are dumped off and the Aquatics apparently go home through the vortex. They scan Earth and find no satellites and no subspace tranmissions. They fly down on a shuttle and are shot down by WW2 planes (from San Francisco) But were those German planes? I didn't get a good look. (EDIT: They were NOT German planes, they were American planes. Someone screen-captured it on www.televisionwithoutpity.com)
So they cut away to a WW2 medical tent, everyone is speaking german. All I can think of is: 'Ok the Swastika reveal is only seconds away!' And sure enough, we pan over... a Swastika! MY GOD! Is there ANYONE IN THE UNIVERSE MORE SINISTER THAN THOSE DAMN NAZIS WERE??? They talk about a wounded person (i was amost expecting it to be Daniels personally) and they reveal.. Archer! Then an officer walks in with someone else. They talk about not recognizing the uniform and the second person walks into the light, he's an Alien NAZI!!! I seriously think the writers made this entire story arc to showcase the Evil Alien in Nazi Uniform. So of course they end the season.... I can see it coming this new 'Arc' is going to have more holes in it than time Daniels kidnapps Archer!
So when/Who time traveled? It is almost like EARTH did the time travelling (insert some techno-babble about the satellites being destroyed by the time travel wave or something). Well, that's my break-down of what i remember. Anything to add or clarify, please do. I'd like to hear it even if no one else does.

Flabooble!
See now, I really like the "Enterprise" serries. It's a little laced with some sexual stuff it just doesn't need to be good but it's OK with me.
I missed last nights episode (funeral). It was the frickin' finale wasn't it?

I couldn't believe the ending either. But, I did find out that the evil alien at the end was a Reman. Could this have something to do with the upcoming Romulan War?
And I did hear that Shatner may be returning as Kirk's great grandfather, or something like that, in the next season.

I cant remember but did Enterprise contact anyone after teh colapse of the spheres? Since they were built by time tavelers, perhaps that caused the trip back in time. However, since S.F. CA was being defended by P51 Mustangs that were used more in the European theater I would tend to think this is possibly a parallel universe.

Hard to visualize something from the 40s penetrating the shuttles sheilds really though.
Must say Im not suprised its doing so poorly though as some of the scripts are more like fillers than real plots though those that are well written are very good and the special effects are top class. It makes me wonder if they have more than one main writer for the series.

Humans don't have shields yet.
Also, I wouldn't put it past the writers to not know where P-51s served. I mean, come on, these people put in an evil space nazi.
