need dell drivers

I have a dell inspirion 2500 laptop provide by work. But the display drivers are not installed and our IT guy can't find the original dell install disc (and not very interested in looking or getting a replacement). I am getting only option in display properties for 16 bit color and 800 x 600 res. I can't even hardly read this screen right now! Where could I find updatewd drivers to re-install. I don't know what kind of video card I have (or if it is intergrated to MB). Device manager says that all things video related are missing drivers and windows can't find any when I search.

I would try the Dell web site.

Hi, welcome to windrivers.

Head to www.dell.com or www.dell.co.uk and go to their support section, enter the tag number of your 2500 (will be something like HN6HJ0J) and you can then download any driver you need.

You could also try running a Windows Update, that may have some drivers for the video....

What operating sysztem is on your laptop? According to Dell, the chipset and video drivers should be included in Windows 98 and later

edit: checking further shows that your video driver is an intel 815em which windows should have found..otherwise, you can get it from intel

thanks for the replies. I am running Win 2000. I have tried the Dell website but did not find what I needed. I will try installing the intel graphics driver and see waht happens. Thanks.
