Sandisk Cruzer Mini not recognized in Win2k
When I plug my Sandisk Cruzer Mini 256 MB USB Flash Drive into my Windows 2000 laptop it comes up with the Found New Hardware Wizard for some reason. The driver should be native, but somehow it's not recognizing it. Some but not all other brands of USB Flash Memory work on my PC just fine after plugging them in and create a drive letter.
The Sandisk works on my Windows XP PC just fine and on other Windows 2000 PCs. I tried installing the Windows 98 driver but the installation program stops after noticing I don't have Windows 98 and says that the driver is only for Windows 98.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated...

I fixed the problem, altough not perfectly. Somehow my PC doesn't recognize any new hardware automatically anymore, so the way to get around it, is to point the Found New Hardware Wizard to the directory WINNT/INF (Hidden folder) and then it will find the driver and install the hardware.

I found the solution!
The Alcohol 52% virtual CD program interferes with the ATAPI.SYS file. So you have to uninstall Alcohol to use a new external drive and then reinstall Alcohol. After that you can use both Alcohol and the flash drive. However next time you have a new flash drive Alcohol has to be uninstalled again! The publisher is working on a fix.
