    Resolved [RESOLVED] Date Change

    I am using WIN 98SE.
Somewhere on my hard drive is a file, program, or what have you, that changes the day and date at midnight say from Wednesday the 10th. to Thursday the 11th.
Does anyone know the name of this file?

are you asking about the kernel function clock? or the bios clock? what are you looking for? please be more specific. If you are asking what program controls the internal clock of the pc - it is a function of the bios, the kernel or gdi makes the call to the bios for the information - there is no program that I am aware of to do this.

If the time is continually off please specify that as your problem.

My problem is: Every day at midnight when the day and date are advanced, the year goes backward, 2001 to 2000.
I feel that I must have a corrupted file. I'm trying to find out what or where it is.

    Hi there,

I am having the same problem with Win98 SE. I have checked my BIOS, I know for a fact that is it not the problem. Have you had any progress with finding a solution?

Some BIOS manufacturers have specific flash updates to fix this. Usually for chips made prior to '98.
Also, Norton Anti-Virus has been known to cause clock errors, as well as other AVs. Check the manufacturer's website for any such programs you have installed.
I would start with a BIOS flash, though....
