What a Beautiful Service Today
They were not just honoring Ronald Reagan the man, they were also honoring the Office of the President of the United States, they were honoring America and they were honoring God.
My wife and I sat in the living room and cried big tears as the kids wandered about. We seemed to get especially emotional while the Honor Guard was moving the body...with such respect, honor and dignity. I'm sure there were many volunteers for that duty! Once, they were moving the body downstairs and the band started slowly playing "God Bless America" and somobody tried to say "Present Arms!"...but the "arms" got lost by his being overcome by the moment. We were also moved by the wide range of music both celebratory and haunting.
Again, what a beautiful service!

Sounds impressive.

I'm sure many funerals in the future will be compared to of this ceremony. Other countries may have their kings, monarchs or what have you. We have our President.
I saw it on ABC. Peter Jennings and Crew really did a bang up job. Mostly, they were quiet and only spoke when needed. I was impressed.
