[RESOLVED] NO DESKTOP - Path too long?
Hi,
We had two machines this week (95osr2) with this problem:
When w95 starts, a dialog appears and says:
-------------------------------
Desktop
-------------------------------
<X> Unable to find this folder
Path too long
|OK|
-------------------------------
or something close to that (it´s in portuguese)
then it simply stays there.
Any help?
PS: Anybody knows how to automate w95osr2 setup? (Like that ms batch generator for the 98...)
Thanx

How long is the path to the desktop folder on your computer? I seem to remember the maximum length allowed is 63 characters or something like that.

If it ain't broke, and you try to fix it anyway, then it WILL need fixing!

Just rename the path. I don't know any Portugese, but its probably just too long. Make sure you rename the folders as well.

i just saw this a couple weeks ago. i cant' remember exactly what it was but make sure you have a working pagefile and make sure your path statement includes c:\windows, c:\windows\system.
