win98 uninstall
I reinstall a couple of my test machines quite a lot, and it's a real pain doing the install.
Is there any way I can create an unattend install iso that will automatically enter the required details like serial number, custom config setting and the like, and then burn it to a cd. The idea being that I could bung the cd in, boot the machine, and it will complete the whole install with no intervention from me.
Any help would be appreciated.
Regards,
Saber

I have a bootdisk (custom made) that will automatically boot, start loading, insert the right numbers, clicks etc., and completely load windows, with no user intervention. It will even run an unattended fdisk, if needed.
You have to edit a couple of the files on it, to insert the right numbers, disk drive letters, CD-ROm, etc., but that's it.
I can zip it up, and email it to you.
Let me know.

You can all download it at http://rebootjim.multimania.com/bootdisk.zip
Just sys a floppy, then unzip to the floppy, choosing to NOT overwrite any files.
This ONLY works with Win98 and 98SE, not 95 or ME.
Read the readme.txt for further instructions, as you MUST edit two files to reflect the system you are installing on.

Had a look around, and the following link lists the switch options for editing the msbatch.inf file in the zip file from Reboot :

to modify the inf file, use MS Batch which is on the windows cd under tools\reskit\batch

To modify the .inf file, just open the damn thing in notepad!

I just burned a Ghost image of my HD onto a CD-R disk right after I got everything set how I like it. All you need to restore is a boot disk with CD-Rom support, and you can be up and running in under 10 minutes.

Ghost 2001 can do a whole image of the hard disk and compress it down so it fits nicely onto a few CD-R's.
So, if you install win98 on one machine, Ghost it just before it starts detecting your hardware you can practically do a win98 install in about 10 minutes
