slow shutdown
my computer has started to take a long time
before it shuts down.What causes this?and
what can i do about it.

Windows 98 second edition I assume you are talking about has some shutdown bugs in it....I have encountered this several times....goto the microsoft support site and search for shut down....there is a patch you can download that fixes some systems.... however an article that I read stated that this is a known problem and that when it says "windows is shutting down" and freezes that you can just trun it off with out any data loss.......of course you may have other problems.... have you installed anything lately???? i stuck program will also cause the Os to hang..... before shutting down do a ctrl+alt+del and kill off all of the programs that are running except for the ones in use by windows and then try it if it works then you have some uninstalling to do...... later and good luck Toxic
