Question about Aperture Size
Hi Gang,
I wanted to know what my aperture size should be. I am running an NVidia GeForce4 MX440 AGP 8x card (with 64mb of DDR RAM) in a Win98SE system. I have 512mb of DDR 2700 System RAM.
Card specs are located here:
http://www.pricegrabber.com/search_t...6801//tab_id=1
I heard correct size should be 1/2 of system ram but my aperture settings don't reach that high, only to 128mb.
What should my best setting be? 32mb, 64mb or 128mb?
Thanks,
Orangeman

I would suggest setting the AGP Aperture Size to either 32Mb or 128Mb (64Mb is sometimes tricky), if you can do it. 16Mb will not show any significant improvement in texture handling.
Start with 128Mb, or switch over to 32Mb if you notice shearing or artefacts.
Although some sites indicate that 1/2 your card's memory is the way to go, it really has no bearing on actual performance. You'll have to try it, run tests and compare.
