Win98 Dual FIFO errors
I have this new Asus board Cubx-l and a 30gig drive.pc 133 ram.After win98 install I get the dual phifo error on the primary and secondary controller.I lost the cd rom as well.I wrote the batch file for the cdrom and tried to do the mobo drivers but to no avale.Any ideas as the system is working but still have the errors in device manager.I wasn't sure where to post this one as it could be part of several things.Sorry.... <IMG SRC="smilies/rolleyes.gif" border="0">

Do you have the HDD and CD Rom on the same controller? If so, that might be it. Also it could be in the registry. Open up REGEDIT and hit F3, type NOIDE. When it finds it, there will be a value after it. Either 1 or 0. If it's 1, delete the NOIDE key and reboot, problem solved, if it says 0, and you have each drive on a separate IDE channel, then you have other issues. Possibly a bad controller or cable.

I belive Chosen One was telling you to search the registry for "NOIDE". This is a common problem with older cd-roms, expecially after replacing them.
