I can only say that I have always, and still do, have the utmost respect all emergency workers, including the police. Even when I was a troubled youth, I knew that the police were doing their jobs, and if I behaved, chances are that they would find someone else to "roust".
Firefighters and emergency medical personnel are deserving of our respect and PROTECTION as a society, and I believe such crimes against them should be punished swiftly and harshly....perhaps removal from the gene pool would be in order for such offenders.

In the US and most "developed countries" they even have lanes, for teh emergency services, ppl can be so stupid.
