Win ME install Problem
I am having trouble trying to set up a win me box.
ASUS A7V8X-X MOBO
WESTERN DIGITAL WD800 HARD DRIVE
AMD XP 2400 CPU
1024 MB DDR 3200
ATI RADEON 9200SE VIDEO CARD
The setup begins ok. All of the setup scans are ok, but when setup tries to create a directory, i get this message:
Standard Mode: Bad Fault in MS-D)S Extender.
Fault : 000d Stack Dump : 0000 0000 0070
Raw fault frame : EC=0000 IP=5EF7 CS=04CF FL=3087 SP=FFEE SS=042F.
I also get:Application Error
SUWIN caused a General Protection Fault in
module SUWIN.EXE at 000C:012A.
I have tried various boot disks. re-formatted the hard drive, reseated the memory chips, checked all bios settings, but still these messages still appear.
What could the problem be? Thanks for any help.

Have you tried doing setup with a minimum of components: just video and only one module of ram? Also, is this a new system? Checked in bios for correct settings?
Tried to flash the bios?
