It came to that screen where the windows xp window is there and the little green bar goes from left to right while it loads... then the screen goes black and the computer is running still but i cant see anything... i tried turning it on in safe mode.. it lists all these drivers it stops at a driver called "agp440" and it stops and doesnt move at alll..... welcome to windrivers h1tm4n

You have corrupted your video drivers. You have two choices, learn a lot about how to fix an XP installation in command line, or do an in place install.

Based on what you have said so far, the inplace install would be the way to go for you.... BUT you have restore disks. Does the restore work automatically or do you have choices with your dell?

What EXACT dell machine (service tag would be good here) are we talking about?

It depends on what you've got. What Noo-noo's asking is whether the restore disks give you the option of restoring just the Os and leaving the files intact or if it simply reimages the drive i.e. you lose the files.

If you've backups, reimaging would be the easiest way. If you've not, but know what you're doing, you could remove the hard drive and copy the files onto another computer, then reimage the hard drive.

Overall, it depends on what you can do with the disks, whether you've got backups or not, and whether you have the confidence and knowledge to do it.

How long have you left it when its he AGP440?

Give it a good 10 minutes before deciding it can't load.

Your dell should have come with a manual and some cd's - do you have them? What are the cd's called?

Also, if you were in deleting spyware, you might have delete a system file by mistake or you also have a virus. The easiest way is to boot XP from the CD, reinstall, and see if it comes up. Usually the spyware I have seen on PC's is the more that's on there, the longer it takes to boot, even in safe mode. With all the drive letters in My Computer, you may have a virus that needs to be cleaned off. Also, a reminder to all 14 year olds, Kazaa is a virus laiden machine I would suggest not using it anymore...
