Alaskan weirdness.
There is currently a cloud of smoke over part of Alaska (including my part) that is as large as the State of Texas. This is so weird. I can barely see across the street. And it is as hot here as it is in Atlanta, according to a friend down there. But we have been in the 80s and 90s for well over 2 weeks, which is extraordinary here indeed!
For some reason, I got much busier in my business today. They have been encouraging elderly people to stay indoors due to the smoke, so I did more housecalls than usual today.
Just plain strange. Still no letup in sight for the temperatures.
If only you knew what's inside of me now,
You wouldn't want to know me, somehow.

91 F down here on Saturday, but it's been very mild since in the upper 60's F (even rained last night and this morning). The smoke was real noticable all day Sunday. I know up at work there was a fire above Noatak that lasted several days but is out now.

Yes, there are a ridiculous number of forest fires here at the moment, and many are just burning with no resistance. Not much to do but wait it out, for the moment.
The old people are suffering quite a bit. So are the younger children.
The *odd* thing is when someone is wearing one of those paper masks to filter the smoke, and you see them move it aside while they smoke a cigarette.

Well, it went down to 52F last night, so maybe it will mellow out today.

You guys can just keep that up there, we'll have our fires very shortly anyway. Very dry down here, in the 70's and 80's everyday.
