Quick Outlook Express Question!
I have a customer on the phone.
When she clicks the 'Addresses' icon she has hundreds of contacts.
On the main Outlook Express screen the 'Contacts' list is empty/not listed. It just says click here to create a new address.
She says this suddenly happened this morning when she turned the PC on.
(I am not sitting in front of a machine with OE on it)
Anyone know what may have gone wrong?
Thanks in advance.

Unless the user is having trouble accessing a shared list, the settings under the View menu should get the contacts back on the screen.

Under 'View' the box is ticked but the contacts are not listed as I said in my first post.

She transfer them to a personal address book and switch the setting?

NooNoo,
She says she has done nothing.
Any ideas what the standard mail settings should be:
Control Panel/Mail
i.e. Personal Address Book
Outlook Express Address Book etc.
This machine is a standalone dialup machine with one email account.
I could get her to check these but I don'y have a machine at hand to confirm.
Thanks
Just to add my customer has talked me through what she sees under 'Addresses' in OE as follows:
Under Shared Contacts there is a folder cailled 'Main Identity Contacts' within are two subfolders named 'Press List' and 'Private Veiwing Mailer'.
The huge amount of addresses are in 'Main Identity Contacts'.
These are the ones we can see in OE contacts.

That may mean that she has logged in as a secondary identity... the contacts show up in main identity, but in her secondary account, they are not there....?

Hi,
Maybe she's using Windows Address book.
Ask the customer if she sees "show name from the:" commo box.
If so - she might have switched the list - and therefore can't acces her contacts.
Cheers,
Gabriel

Gabriel,
Thanks for the reply but could you expand on:
Ask the customer if she sees "show name from the:" commo box.
I don't quite understand what you mean.

you can easily identify the Windows adress book - on the right upper corner of the Screen there is a combo box to allow the user to chose from where to "take" the addresses.
It might be a simple case of chhosing the source.
Good Luck,
Gabriel
