    Post Win98 time problems

On my girlfriend's computer every so often the time will set itself back 2 hours for no real reason. At first I thought it might be due to a bad CMOS battery, but if that were the case it would reset itself back the previous date/time set by the motherboard correct? Anyway we tried replacing it and it still does it. I also thought it might have been doing it due to some sort of problem with the daylight savings time auto update thing, but it never says anything it just does it. It's not a real problem, just an annoyance. It will do it sometimes several times a day or only a few times a week, but having to set it back everytime only to have it screw up again at any moment is very frustrating. Any ideas what may be causing this, and/or how to fix it?

Thanks. Next time I'm over I'll try that. As for what mobo is installed I have no clue. It's a PB, so I'm guessing just some generic model.
