A7N8X-E Problem
I just got the Asus A7N8X-E motherboard and I plan to pair it with a Athlon 2.5ghz chip. For some reason, with just the CPU, memory and video card (Gigabyte FX5700 256) installed the pc will post and I can enter the BIOS, but it will just randomly shut off anywhere from 10 seconds to 5 minutes after I turned it on. I can't turn it back on until I shut off the power supply and turn it back on. I don't even get any "voice" telling me what the problem is. Just poof. Any assistance would be great, or I'll just return it for a different board entirely.

Have you tried another known good power supply? A dicky PSU can certainly cause a symptom like this, and the different load requirement of new components could show it up.
I'm just now about to fit up 3 replacement capacitors in a PSU that was unhappy.

Yes, I did unfortunately. I have two power supplies an Enlight 350 and an Enermax 350, both are about a year old and both had the same problem. Unfortunately, I will have to wait until the end of the week to purchase a new PS to test with.

Maybe it is just only CPU overheating - if CPU cooler is not installed properly...
