Monitor Problem
I have a ViewSonic vx900 LCD monitor. Yesterday we had a power surge which rebooted the cpu. When it restarted, the monitor screen was all white. I am able to use another monitor on the same cpu so I do not believe it is a video card or motherboard problem. I have no other issues with the cpu and it works just fine. I have tried re-installing the monitor drivers but have had no luck so far. Normally I would just assume the monitor went bad but last week I did have some spyware removed using the pest patrol program. I am wondering if one/some files remove by the pest patrol were needed for the monitor. I have researched many areas concerning monitor problems but have not seen anything specific to just a full white screen. The monitor is still under warranty and I did speak to tech support but all he told me was to send it to them for repair. I am not totally convinced the monitor went bad and I hate to send it away and have to wait for repairs which might not be needed. Has anyone else experienced an issue like this and can help with a quick fix that I might be overlooking.

If you can use another monitor with no problem, the monitor with the white screen HAS to be bad..ship it in

Sounds to me that if you had a power surge you need to take the monitor back or get a new one.

Yeah sounds like the power surge finished off your monitor
