Unhappy Windows Explorer Opens When 'E' is Pressed

Hi, just wondering if anyone knows what causes windows explorer to open when ever the 'E' key is pressed on the keyboard. The keyboard has been replaced. This problem sometimes goes away after a reboot, but will always comes back. Any help on trying to stop this happening would be greatly appreciated.

Either your keyboard is failing or your Windows key (Windows key + E launches Explorer) is stuck. Next time it happens rather than rebooting, try tapping the Windows key a couple times and see if that saves you the reboot.

I have tried a new keyboard but it didn't fix the problem. I have occasionally seen it before on other computers but after rebooting the computer the problem goes away completely. However, with this computer, the problem re-occurs frequently.

If it happens with any keyboard that you use you may want to explore (no pun intended) wether there are any shortcut key macros enabled.if Office is installed, see if the Office start is in your start up folder.Delete it and work back from there checking your app settings and options. Just a thought.

I see that exact problem once in a while. Never been able to reproduce the problem--it seems to be more random. Although it seems more common right after an app. crashes. Your keyboard is just fine. A restart fixes the problem in every case I've seen. But I haven't seen a case that did this frequently--the restart isn't really a fix then. If all else fails, reinstall the OS--sometimes quicker than trying to fix an odd windows problem.
