Errors with Norton AV
I've been going over and over this thing time and time again. I'm on my 5th install in 1/2 as many days and rather annoyed. various reasons have led me to doing the re-installs, however, this is a recurring one for me, and one that I can sort of trace. here goes:
I'm getting the following errors:
0028:C18B048E in VxD Navex(02)+00038EAE
Fatal 0D 231F:01776B97
Fatal 0D 0246:016F47B
Fatal 0D 0ABEL016F268B
Open App's: Office Apps, Adobe Reader, IE. Occurs at varying times
I believe the Navex is Norton Anti-Virus crashing, and it causes the other errors in the process. I uninstalled AV and it seems to have fixed it. I was wondering if there is a patch for such a problem? I tried MS KB and Symantec's website, not much help there. Figured I try here first, but knowing my own ineptitude with MS KB, well... we won't go there.. I appreciate your help. The system is detailed below.
My "pet" system:
Athlon XP1500 Epox EP-8K7A, 256MB DDR, 40GB WD 7200 ATA100, 20GB HDD mounted in a removable bay, ATI All-in-wonder 128Pro 32MB AGP, HP 10-4-32CDRW, 48x CDROM (cheapo, but works better than a hi-val heh), AVS500 Speakers, Zip100, Modded full tower

You don't say which version of NAV it is, but I would try installing it without the Shell Extentions if you have that option.

Some time Nav just doen't work with certain Configurations I have noticed with my experience Uninstallin gth Program will most likelyy fix the Problem But leaves you with no Anti virus. So I would try everything Possible then in the End switch to Macafee.
I have personally changed from Nav to Macafee and back again a couple of times.

I know this really doesnt help your problem, but just wanted to let you know I have 98se running nav 2002 no problems whatsoever with it. Not really sure how much help that is, I can tell you I have seen in the past where nav wouldnt run on an AMD based computer (blue screens like crazy), but thats been awhile ago.
