    Political Third Parties

What would it take to get you to vote for a third-party in the upcoming elections? I've looked at a lot of third-party websites, and I like what some of them have to say. Yet at the same time, I know that chances of any of them to actually win the election are slim to none. It just bugs me that the most important elected position in our country only has two viable candidates, which makes a lot of people vote "the lesser of two evils" instead of who their might really want as a president or actually giving a real choice in the election...

I was just curious how others felt, and so I will end my ranting...

Ross Perot proved that if a third party candidate can have a legitimate chance of taking the presidency away from the 'Big Two'. Unfortunately he was a crackpot who blew his chances at winning, but at one point I think he had something like 23% of the voting populace on his side, which is a lot in a three person race.

As a Texan that distrusts Bush and refuses to vote for Kerry, I find myself looking for a third party this year for the pres race. Honestly, I will probably give that vote to the party that is closest

This is something else that bugs me...

I wish that election results were not revealed anywhere until after all polls across the nation are closed.

I agree. It discourages those who would vote in the last hours of an election.

I have to agree! If ever the need for an "alternate" choice was needed, it is NOW! And, guess what, many people feel the same. So people, it is NOW the time for a semi-revolution! How can you do that? With the ballot, of course. So, vote Libertartian, if you will, but>>>>>>>>>>>DO MORE THAN THAT! Why? Because that will not change a thing! They are so rooted in "power" that only taking a stand, and spreading the message, will do the trick!!!! THEY are not worried at all! They know the ways of this world and flaunt it and take more power from it.
So, how much do you REALLY care???? How much are you willing to do. and how hard are you willing to try? Why do I ask? Because talk is nothing but talk! Action is the only thing that matters. You can talk the talk, but unless you walk it, it is nothing BUT talk! So, do you have it in you? If you do, it is never easy. You well be persecuted in every sort of way. Even called names like Chicken Little: the sky is falling. Well, guess what, change is so hard to fathom, no less achieve. And, anyone who sees a need for change and acts upon it, will become fodder for all sorts of insults and adversity. SO, you MUST stick to your guns!
So, do you have it in you? Only you can decide!
The biggist revolutions can and have started with the smallest spark! Are you the spark? Or, just a cigarette butt being put out in the ash tray? Your choice, btw, noone elses!

So, considering what you have just said, what do YOU intend to do about it?

OMG!! That is a hilarious picture!! I can't stop laughing.

Back on topic, it would take a realistic shot of a third party winning for me to vote that way. I don't consider Nader a realistic shot so Kerry is gonna get my vote, especially now that he's got that guy that talks to dead people as his vp.

Ya Know, Ross Perot, to me, had the best idea of how to run the country. Run it like a business. Make money. He was a sort of a nut job, in the final analysis. Which is too bad. His ideas were great, though.

I am very politacally ignorant. I don't understand why you have to belong to a "party".when I vote,I don't vote all democrat, or all republican. I try very hard to listen to the crap that comes out of their mouths, and decide whether or not they are sounding sincere enough for my vote.

I listen to alot of people talk politics, and I hear, " My parents were Democrats, so I'm voting Democrat". "My Husband likes Bush, so I'll vote for him, also".

IMHO, the Presidential term should be for 5 years. Divide the country into 4 equal parts, population wise. Two people from each area run as candidates, Pres and Vice Pres. The government gives them a bank of say 20 million dollars. Spend it how you want to get elected. No bashing. Concentrate on the issues. Kiss all the babies you want. Let the people decide. The electoral college could just go away.

    Sorry, rant off..
