CD-Rom Drive Won't Burn
I'm not sure if this is the name of my drive, but it's all I have:
Lite on Ltr 523275
It's a brand new drive and all of a sudden it will not burn CDs. Any suggestions regarding driver updates or other solutions. I know longer have the box it came in and the documentation I have doesn't mention a website.
Thanks so much for your help!

Does it read cds corpwell?
When it stopped burning cds, was it shortly after and update, install, uninstall of software or hardware?
What are you using as burning software and what windows?

I have installed quite a bit of software that is work-related. I really can't pinpoint when this happened since I don't use the drive that much. As for the driver, don't know! I have Windows XP and it worked before under "Plug & Pray" philosophy.
I did do a BIOS update a little while back. What do you think? Thanks so much!

Bios update on the motherboard or a firmware update on the CDRW?
How do you normally burn cds?

I will check. Roxio is a maybe; sounds familiar. I have done so much with my computer in the past 5 months...God only knows what is for the previous system vs this one.
If I install the wrong software, nothing will happen right? It will just be unnecessary system software, right? Thanks so much!

With this CD player though I rarely use it since I store everything important on an external harddrive. Did you see Granddad's post? What do you think?
Thank you!

Just noticed your other questions. I did BIOS update on motherboard and you mean software update, by firmware, right? I know enough "tech talk" to be dangerous. The BIOS update did help. I was having system clock problems.

OK well we can't help unless you tell us what software you use for burning the cds....
How would you normally go about burning a cd on this machine?

Shuffled through my driver CDs and I found "Nero Express"! Roxio must have been for the old one. Should I simply reinstall this software? Or do you know of a glitch with it? Thanks!!!!!

if you have installed multiple types of burning software, it is quite likely that you have upset the burning process...
Is nero on the machine already? You said in your first post that it suddenly stopped.... from what you have told us since, this is not sudden....When you discovered it wouldn't burn, how did you tell it to burn a cd?

Hello! Thanks for writing. God only knows what happened, but I uninstalled and reinstalled the Nero software and now works like a charm!
Have a wonderful day!
