ati rage2c video card in compaq deskpro
Can anyone help me with this problem. the video card went in my compaq deskpro 6000 . i purchased a ati rage 2c video card cheap. an went to install it into the pc, windows 98 would not detect it. when i try to install the drivers from the cd that came with it .the cd stops and doesn't load the drivers ,when i try from the web site same problem. on the video card box i noticed that the edo 4 ram box was checkedn off not the 8mbsdram box.is there a difference? is the part of my problem? does this only work on edo here are my specs.
compaq despkpro 6600, 196 megs of sdram(pc100) 350 mhz pII processor 30

Welcome to Windrivers Barcar10. Do you know for certain that this card worked when you bought it? Try uninstalling the old video drivers and starting your computer with just the vga drivers. Now see if the computer finds the new card.
The EDO ram is standard on this card and is not to be confused with the ram in your computer.
