    Resolved [RESOLVED] Win98 Errors on Boot

    Hello All
    Sometimes, about 30% of the time, get blue screen error "too many vxd in sys....modify windows.ini file....st errors???
    Didnt make notes, sorry...but running win98 on PPro200.
    Can any of you shed at least some light??

    Usually all the vxd's that load are loaded from system.ini in your WINDOWS folder. If you put a semi-colon in front of a DEVICE= line, it temporarily disables that line from being loaded. If your system works fine without that vxd for about a week, you can safely delete that line. Please do yourself a favor though: please back up any and all system files before you go and make any changes.
