[RESOLVED] IE 5.01 does not retain window settings

When launching a new window it comes up as a minimised floating box and does not remember the settings when I change them back by re-sizing the window. This problem does not affect windows explorer views. I have also tryed clearing the StreamsMRU in the registry. Any ideas?

I've asked this question many times and never get a response worth anything. Most people say "resize the window and then click the X to close it and it will remember the settings". Problem is, my computer crashes 3 times a day and I have to keep doing that over and over because it forgets the setting after it crashes. I type in javascript:resizeTo(804,576); in the address bar and that works for me to open the window almost maximized. You can change the 804 and 576 to what ever your screen size is. I have to retype it in every once in a while when IE messes up. It's ridiculous that Microsoft doesn't let you open new windows maximized. You can open new windows full screen, but I don't like using IE full screen. Netscape's one up on them. Someone should be able to figure out a hack to be able to open the window maximized. I wish I was smart enough to figure it out. You'd think someone would have figured something out by now. Anyway, good luck getting it to work.

I had IE 5 open as a postage stamp he he goofy goofy goofy , I wish it would open maximized , Like when I go to "WIndows update" I get this small window, Now who browses in a postage stamp when they have a nice 17 inch monitor

Try resizing the window to the size you want and the use "Ctrl" key while clicking on the "X" (Hard Close).
