They seem to be getting better since Hussain buggered off. I look forward to another win over the Windies at Edgbaston this week.

The last test match I watched was the Windies at Edgbaston. I tell ya, cricket really is an underrated way of getting drunk for 5 days straight

And just as importantly Trip - where are YOU going to be when the Premiership kicks off? At my house or on the bloody golf course?

I'll be there, but only occasionally. It will depend on the matchup. So, maybe alternating weekends. You know: it's the big ones that I want to see: ManU, Liverpool, Chelsea, and Arsenal. I'd even check your Brummies just to see how Heskey is doing.
BTW: how about that nine hole course of yours on Friday? I'll check with Super Bob, too.
And congrats on your next post being 500!

Well Trip, we'll have to sort something out about the football then, www.foxsportsworld.com has a schedule but its only for the current week. Feel free to pop round if you see a game on you'd like to watch mate.

As for the golf, I'll see if I can get Danny to make up the numbers - just don't count on having a cart, the walking'll do you good

Euro 2004 - I sort of remember that! My son was born 6 May so I hardly saw any of it (except the penalties of course!*&^*!) Cricket's my main passion though - got Friday off to spend the day watching the Test on TV. Never been to a Test match - we don't get many played down here, though I saw Eng v Pakistan ODI at Edgbaston when Pakistan were 0-2 after 1 over in 1987 I think and Zimbabwe v Kenya at Taunton in the World Cup. (Wish I'd been there when India played Sri Lanka!!)

I remember that game, I was 14 at the time and used to be a junior season ticket holder at Edgbaston... If I remember rightly, things got a little nasty at one point (off the pitch). Not exactly what I was used to seeing at a cricket match to be honest

That's right. I remember walking out of the ground at the end and seeing people bandaged up and blood dripping everywhere. Defreitas hit a huge six over midwicket near the end of the match after Greg Thomas had taken those 2 early wickets. Thinking back, I also went to Lords to see Eng V W Indies in a ODI too. Lamb ran himself out first ball after lunch - I missed it cos I was looking for a pork pie I'd dropped! The Eng batsmen couldn't cope with the ball coming at pace into their ribs!! (Who would?) I'm out injured this season but normally play every week in the Devon League. Now I umpire at £15 a game!
