packhard hell
hi can anyone shed a light on this one : packard bell CLUB 77, ,,,,,UK MODEL
ive to go and reinstall it in site tommorrow morn (about 8 hrs)
as far as i can see its a intel (type) board ....summot sticks in my mind about a 810 but i might be wrong ,,,,,built in vid (im sure the guy said 810) + sound with a plug in amr riser modem skt 370 2 dimm skts no isa or agp (very plain board)
if anyone can put me in the right direction i can d/load drivers tonight,
he hasnt got restore disks (he has but i think theyre wrong ones ,,when i asked for model No. he replied 240v 50hz !!!!!
so i dont think its safe to ask him to boot in safe mode and run hpinfo?

Chipset Drivers
SigmaTel Audio
Yamaha YMF740 ACXG Sound Drivers
Intel i810/815 Video Drivers
Modem Riser CIS PB5614DE1MG (PC-Tel)
Win98 Modem Riser Aztech MR-2800W (Smartlink)
Could be any of the sound or Modem drivers as there is literally nothing on PB's site for the Club77. These are teh most common ones used though .

thanks darren , had some probs with this POS.
first of all there was a bios p/word ,,tried clearing the bios with jumper , no go , tried killcmos ,,,,it said it worked but it didnt ! it was a ami bios,
re drivers ,,,,,thanks for your imput , the vid was bob on ! the sound no go , it was the stac97 (built in) s/card , unfortunatly when u d/load from pb/nec they only give u a setup prog (exe) and no driver pack ,,,,,got them from gigabyte eventually
re the modem ,,dead as a door nail ,,,,unless somone has "accidentally" turned off the AMR in bios , it is *uggered ,,,,will stick a cheapy in tommorrow.
one question (darren) and anybody from uk , Can anybody suggest a good SLOT 1 m/board ,,,AVAILABLE need at least 8x100 not bothered about ide ,,cos i use scsi + promise.
been lookin at dabs/scan/etc ,,,,,,cant see a lot
my secondary ide slot is knackered ,,,now my printer ports gone AWOL (stuck a old card in for now)
cheers freddy

I may be able to get you a new board with Slot 1 , buit I won't be able to find out until Monday when my suppliers open again. I agree though with Garak on the BE6-II and also teh QDI BrillianX1 is a good board for teh money (especially if stability is more important than speed).

Packard Hell is the right word, strip it , sell what you can and dump the rest,
(most of it)
