Problems with a Matrox G450MMS
Alright, so I'm running a Matrox G450MMS with an IBM 19" LCD and a ViewSonic 17" CRT connected to it. Both are running via analog. Now the problem I'm having is with the majority of the icons in my Start menu. It seems like a lot of them are being displayed using only 16 or 256 colors. But if I go into the Properties of the icon and go into Change Icon and reselect the original icon, then it changes it back to what it should normally be. But after I reboot the computer, the icons change back and look like crap again.
I've downloaded the latest video drivers and that didn't help at all. Any ideas?

Do you have TweakUI? There's a function to repair the icon cache.

No TweakUI installed on this computer. This is my work computer and the icons have been screwed up ever since I installed dual-monitors on it.

Try these:
http://support.microsoft.com/default...roduct=win2000

I believe that deleting the ShellIconCache file is the one that fixes it, although you might want to look at the registry setting as well.
