    Exclamation Trouble Connecting to IRC Servers

    i am trying to connect to an IRC server but it keeps giving me the same error on mIRC

    * Connecting to mozilla.se.eu.dal.net (6667)
    -
    * Unable to connect to server (Connection timed out)

    * Connecting to irc.viperpr.net (6667)
    -
    * Unable to connect to server (Connection timed out)

    it's the same thing with every single server i try to connect to.

    Does somebody knows a solution????

    P.D. Im running WIN XP Pro and a connected thru a Cable Modem

    If you have a firewall, you need to open the relevant ports. If you are running xp and you don't think you have a firewall, then check that xp's firewall is not operating. In the last couple of years some antivirus software has a firewall incorporated as well.

    If you connect to a cable modem, do you have a router? You may need to allow the port in the router.
