    Gigabyte GA-8IHXP(3.0)

I have this motherboard in my PC and I need some clarification on what CPU's I may be able to use in it.

I have a 2.4ghz Northwood on it right now, and I'm contemplating an upgrade.

The board has a 533mhz bus, and as I understand the new chips with the Hyperthreading technology are 800mhz. This is where I begin to get confused.

The latest BIOS patch for my board adds Hyperthreading support. I don't get the point behind this if the chips are 800mhz chips? Can I put an 800 mhz chip in this board and get the benefit of the HT? Would it cycle itself back to operate at 533mhz?

Feel a little stupid at not being able to find a resource for this but I know of no better place to ask.

I actually voted for John Kerry, before I voted against him.

Intel makes a 3.06ghz, 533fsb processor w/ HT support. You cannot run an 800fsb cpu on your board.
