    Red face DVD misbehaving

I have just an LG DVD, So I thought getting a film would be a nice Idea (Jungle book, no smut here )

I am using Power DVD and this works just fine after installing the motherboards UDMA drivers.

The problem is between 1/2 and 3/4 of the film it begins to jerk and the sound goes to pot. I could understand this more if it was the first 1/2 or the last 1/2, but the middle !

    Hardware

    AMD k62 500 on GA5AA
    SB 128 PCI
    Voodoo 3 2000 AGP
    128 MB
    No hardware decoder
    Adaptec SCSI card

This machine is networked, ( Don't think this make any differnce, but you never know)

I did a new system for a customer, that called and said that same DVD was giving him issues. For him, it was the only one in his collection that did. I reloaded everything, and that one title still did it. What he did not tell me was that the DVD loaded something into his machine. I could not find it so I wiped his drive and reloaded and it worked fine until he loaded that DVD again.

Is it possible this is a similar problem?

I spoke to a friend today and he said he was having the same problem with 101 Dalmations.

What are Disney doing to their DVD's ?

I may having the same problem with some DVD's I rented from Netflex.com. They start out playing ok and then my whole system freezes up? When I put the DVD into my pc's DVD/CD-Rom the DVD opened IE5 and went the Universial Studios site and instaled something called PC Friendly DVD Player? I have know idea what this is or why it is a part of the DVD? It has nothing to do with the movie, I have ATI DVD Player 2.1 that came with my ATI XPERT 128 card.

But this software has made my CD-Rom/DVD unusable. No matter what I put in it, a DVD, game anything it just freezes up. Even after I went in and uninstalled the software. At least i tried.

Please post as suggestions or fixes for this one, I am stumped!
