    Unhappy Checking NVRAM......Update Failed

I'm getting this message after the post on boot-up. After that it comes up with "press f1 to enter dual bios".. If I leave it, it detects my harddrive and cdroms and carries on normally.. My board is a Gigabyte GA-6CXC with a Ami dual bios. Also I'm unable to flash my bios, I get an error erasing... Any ideas???

My honest opinion, ditch the board and buy a new one. I have a GA6 BX2000 in my system here and the Dual Bios has caused me more grief than anything. It will not boot form teh Primary BIOS at all, just beeps at me and informs me that the BIOS needs reflashing, yet if I boot from teh secondary BIOS it is fine. Gigabyte have refused point blank to answer any of my E-mails so they can stick their boards up their arses as far as I am concerned. The Dual Bios in one aspect (theoretical) is a good idea but in practice it is a waste of time.

    My own opinions.

BTW where did you get your board from as mine came from the Oldham area??

    Cool

Thanks for your opinion... A bit on the drastic side.. lol.. I got it at the Northern Computer Markets, at Bowlers.. From the Ram Computers stall... Easy for overclocking though..

I encountered a similar Problem with my GA-7VTXE.
On boot the Message "Checking NVRAM.. failed"
I even wasn´t able to do an BIOS update ("BIOS ROM - Error on erasing").

When I swapped the graphics adapter (from Gainward GeForce 2 pro GS AGP to a PCI graphic adapter) and took out the 512 MB RAM and left only the 128 MB RAM it suddenly worked fine.
I think the graphic adapter caused the problem.
After BIOS Upgrade I swapped the graphics adapter again and now everything is working fine - even with 640 MB RAM an the Gainward GF2 pro GS.

    Best regards

    Welcome to Windrivers Forums, Big.teejay!
You've done a good searching job on the Net...
I'm just wondering - how many forums members came to Windrivers after doing search online?

    Thank you for the tip!
