    virus

While on the net earlier today norton detected a 'bloodhound' virus on my pc. i then did a scan using norton which didn't find anything so i used pc pitstop which found (1) a trojan horse in file c:\documents and settings\temp\pft5.tmp\support\navtools\repair\fix GONER.exe and (2) trjqhost.m virus which was found in file c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Trojans are usually easy to get rid of, you just delete the file.... having said that, you may have a load of other stuff lurking. Have you done a spyware check?
