The problem with Windows XP SP2 & DIVX
- The DivX problem is going to be repeated on quite a few applications. Anything that generates machine code into a memory buffer and then calls it will be hit, until the authors modify their software to tell Windows what they're doing. The calls for this have existed since the introduction of the Win32 API - it's just that until now, nothing went wrong if you didn't use them.

Many, many users are reporting problems with SP2 limiting outbound TCP/IP connections. This appears to be nailing anyone who makes heavy network use of their machine, including especially users running P2P applications

I had to reinstall Roxio Media Creatror 7 as a couple of the program elements didn't work right. Lable creator wouldn't open at all. After reinstall, all was well. Nothing else so far.

Some programs seem to stop working after you install Windows XP Service Pack 2
After you install Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2), some programs may seem not to work. By default, Windows Firewall is enabled and blocks unsolicited connections to your computer. This article discusses how to make an exception and enable a program to run by adding it to the list of exceptions. This procedure permits the program to work as it did before the service pack was installed.

Windows XP SP2 and Prescott CPU Compatibility Issues? - Warp2Search is reporting that there are possible issues with Windows XP builds after installing SP2. While using Prescott core CPUs, as soon as they install SP2 and reboot, the system hangs at the Windows splash screen. Changing the CPU to a non-Prescott version corrects the problem.
