I hate customers some days
I just had a lady screaming at me about how I built her computer wrong and how poorly it was put together. When I finally got her calmed down enough for her to tell me what is wrong she tells me the CD rom has not place for a disk to fit... So I asked her what she ment she again starts screaming about I should know what the CD-ROM looks like and she wants me to drive to new sudbury right now or she is calling the cops and the better business buro... And once again I ask her to calm down will figure out what to problem is... So she says there is no place to put the CD in the drive.... So I think about this for a min... I asked her where the drive is on the machine... She says at the bottom... I start Laughing.. I tell her she has the computer upside down....
AHHHHHHHHHH Scream
I'm not Satan ... I'm just one of his highly placed minions

Nope, this is an award winner:
A friend of mine from church called to ask me if the modem had to be connected to the phone line in order to work...

Like good old Beavis and Butthead say....
Customers are losers.
Just had a great one.... did a network install for a company, about 3 months ago. Replaced their old NT4 box with a nice new 2003 SBS.... they have a scheduled task which sends updates to their website nightly which works superbly on their new, and worked really well on their old one.
On leaving, we left their old server in the server room as per request as he wanted a backup/failsafe should anything go wrong. Anyways after we left he takes it onboard to switch on the server and put back on the network - just in case....
Anyways he rings up today bitching that his website is out of date.... and here's why, as the automated task to update his website is now running on both servers on the network, the old server runs 5 minutes behind on time... so his new server updates the website and the old server overwrites it with 3 month old data 5 minutes later......
Apparently it's my fault.
So although it's been said above, you only hate customers some days? I hate them everyday. Still easiest call out fee for the company to turn off an automated task (because we had to visit we weren't allowed to talk him through it!)

I used to give em the benifit of the doubt. However There mostly all id10t's Per example that laptop i posted about in the laptop forum.
Guy borrows a loaner takes it in the field with him for a week. brings it back and said it didnt work and that i need to get his data from it. I power it up and lo and behold there is a HDD password that wont let me finish booting. So i ask him what the password is. (He obviously looks annoyed that I would askhim for a password that he didnt know.) This is his reply. WELL I DIDNT GO IN AND SET ONE!!! To wich I replied; then who did? You expect me to believe that some one broke into your hotel to put a bios password on your computer just to mess with you? However Justice has been served the HD is going to be sent out and he will be billed directly. And from what we were quoted this isnt going to be cheap.

He's lucky to be getting any data back at all, the way some companies worked the concept of a HDD password.
