2.4 Ghz
Finally got my 1700+ to 2.4 Ghz. Soldered a 680 ohm resistor to the VDD chip and boosted the voltage from 1.58 to 1.76 volts. Allowed me to boost from 185 to 200 mhz on the frontside bus.

Very cool looking machine. However, these "water cooled" systems are quite scary imo. Maybe I don't know enough about it,.. but one thing I do know is that I wouldn't feel comfortable knowing that high volumes of water are running through rubber tubes, close to fans spinning at high rates of speed, mere inches away from my 500w/120v power supply. But thats just me.

Heh, I just had a leak last night. Manufacturing defect in the thread sealant on the waterblock. Water got on my vid card and on all the pci/agp slots. Dried everything off and it works fine. I was plenty pissed though.
I live in Tampa, Florida. Tampa is in the center of the west coast of Florida.

If youre running a complete water cooling set for hdd, cpu, vga, u dont need so many fans? it just makes noise.
Very nice system!

Just a cpu waterblock. I need to get a better heatercore before I can add the GPU to the loop.

Why spend the time and effort on OC'ing a slow cpu to high speed? Doesnt it make more sense to just buy the more expensive version of the chip and not worry about it?

Until I learn how to wish money into existance or not pay car insurance, overclocking is more cost effective.

I would have much rather spent the ~$60 on a better chip rather than the water cooling

$130 right now would get me a Barton 2800+ which would be slower than my current CPU. That ignores the facts that I've been running this CPU heavily overclocked for over a year now and that I didn't need watercooling to get to 2.32 Ghz. I got into watercooling because casemodding is a hobby.
Please though, do feel free to keep crapping on my thread. I posted about a completed volt-mod, but please do keep telling me why overclocking is a waste.

No crapping on your thread, just asking why you go through so much trouble for so little results? I mean overclocking is one thing, but making a volt mod to do more? Jeezus man, are you REALLY gonna notice a difference?
